Teri Dodds - Part Two.

Teri Dodds took on the cold yesterday, which is not her favourite pastime, to deliver a great array of her sensational © pics for you of the final stages of the 2011 Melbourne to Geelong race held on Port Phiilip.

The wind was far less violent for some of the boats, but then the rain appeared - know which I'd rather endure!!!

ORCV_WS2011_100911-TD-057_Optimumm

Steve Williamson's Farr 30, Optimum - great to have them out.

ORCV_WS2011_100911-TD-082_Laurelle

Laurelle looking very much like they needed the warm showers! They got a third in IRC2 for their efforts, however, so that should have helped.

ORCV_WS2011_100911-TD-113_Keuna

Per Bengtzen's Kerina took out PHS in Cruising - well done.

ORCV_WS2011_100911-TD-136_SoireeBleu

Doug Lithgow's Soiree Blue from Royals was part of Div1 Racing.

ORCV_WS2011_100911-TD-303_NinetySeven

ORCV Stalwart, Ninety Seven, from which comes Alan 'Need to share the Love' Saunders.

ORCV_WS2011_100911-TD-270_Yoko_

ORCV Stalwart of Stalwarts - Yoko.

Even more on the way from Teri!

Laurie 'Lozza' Ford is pretty happy that his SoD has taken out the PHS Div1 prize, but the crew point out that today's race was the first one of the Winter Series that he's actually been onboard for.... Hhhhhmmmmmmm. well done, Lozza??? PS. The crew did also say that his new name was 'handbrake'.

Teri Dodds - Part One.

Teri Dodds has, as always, turned in some sensational © pics for you of the final stages of the 2011 Melbourne to Geelong race held on Port Phiilip in what is now very cold and damp conditions with very little breeze bringing the last competitor home.

The main thing to note at this time is that the results are up, HERE. Well done to the crew and vessel below, who take out the Lord Warden Trophy for the third year running with just nine points this year from the seven races of the 2011 Winter Series, of which the Melbourne to Geelong event is the last leg. Tied for second place on 11 points are Jazz Player and Toecutter 2 with Lou Abraham's Challenge in third on 14 points.

ORCV_WS2011_100911-TD-063

Must have known the outcome, seeing as they're so relaxed. They were two points astern of Toecutter 2 at the start of the day...

ORCV_WS2011_100911-TD-010

Line Honours for Goldfinger in division and overall - and they covered the most distance to do it, too!

ORCV_WS2011_100911-TD-038

Addiction comes in towards the finish.

ORCV_WS2011_100911-TD-232

Biddy Hu II love a pic and would have loved the conditions with enough breeze to get 'em moving along.

ORCV_WS2011_100911-TD-311

Super-artsy shot of Jazz Player - nice work Teri!

ORCV_WS2011_100911-TD-361

Under Capricorn and my, does it not look cold and wet....

ORCV_WS2011_100911-TD-378

Lou was out onboard his Challenge for today's run...

More on the way from Teri!

ORCV Melbourne to Geelong (M2G)

No Herbie!

Herbie Racing Team is the latest retirement from the 2011 Melbourne to Geelong event. The lads were going two-handed and we will advise on the reason soon enough. In the meantime, the wind is blowing, the fleet is not that far off Geelong and both Teri Dodds and This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. are out there to trap the rest of the day for you.

Whilst you're waiting, below are just an assortment of the way the day began, back up at the top of the Bay.

2011_M2G_ThreateningPreStart

It was very threatening and oh-so-artsy during pre-start just near R2 this morning....

2011_M2G_Div1Start

Division One got away with both Goldfinger and Mille Sabords on individula recall. In this shot, it looked like God was going to recall the whole lot and take them upstairs with him!!!

2011_M2G_FingerReturns

Goldfinger came back, re-started and then set about getting to the front again, which she had secured easily by a third of the way down to the Spoil Ground.

2011_M2G_Div2Start

Division Two was an all clean and fair start and a little less ominous, too - the five minute difference was pretty much what it was like all morning. Depending on where you were and at what time, you could be wishing you had your Communicator to talk to Scotty or wondering when you might need the sunscreen. It's pretty happy here at Geelong, right now with a fair amount of golden sun pouring through the gaps.

2011_M2G_CruisingStart

The Cruising Division raned from 30 footers to the Swan 65, Inedependent Endeavour pictured here. Three OCSs at this start, which was a further five munites after the Div2 boats. Reckless, Escapade and Streetcar.

2011_M2G_JazzyCBD

With XLR8 gone, Jazzy was second around the Spoil Ground and headed back towards town.

2011_M2G_Chutzpah38SGmark

Chutzpah38 was up just behind Challenge as these two led the six Colts back to P3.

2011_M2G_BomboraSGmark

Bombora were all smiles and I reckon they could be a fair chance at being the new Happiest Crew On The Water! Well done team...

2011_M2G_AudaciousSGmark

Little bit more art with the wide angle lens as Audacious leads Schüss around the SG mark... These have been enhanced, it was pretty dark out there...

2011_M2G_LightAndDark

Coming down on a very broad two-sail reach, bathed in sunlight as it was all black in the centre of the Bay are Schüss, Cinquante and Audacious.

2011_M2G_CinquanteP3mark

Bombora and Dry White now get in to the frame on the left...

2011_M2G_CinquanteAtP3mark

Cinquante was one of the vessels who took the inside and close track around P3, which you can see off the stern...

2011_M2G_SchussP3mark

Schüss was a little wider...

2011_M2G_AudaciousP3mark

And Audacious even wider, again...
