2015 ORCV Survey

The Ocean Racing Club of Victoria would like to know more from the off shore community about how we can improve our sailing and training programs in order to boost participation.

We invite you to participate in a short on line survey to get your feedback. The survey will close on 29th May 2015.

Click HERE for the link to the survey

We recently emailed this survey to our members and race entrants. If you did not receive an email, please use the link above to respond. We will value your opinion.

By completing the survey you go into the draw for a chance to win a Helly Hansen H2 Flow Jacket

Lightweight fleece jacket with revolutionary air circulation.

"Professional sailors challenged us to create the most versatile jacket you can imagine. Because they must deal with all kinds of weather imaginable. We made a jacket with a unique flow system that uses air pockets to regulate body temperature. This system conserves body heat when you need it, and lets you vent it out when you want it. Perfect as a mid or outer layer jacket"

Vale Lou Abrahams

My first memory of Lou was about 1972 after a Stanley race when I was rafted up alongside his yacht (was it VITTORIA?). In one of my first ocean races he came up from below and assisted us to tie up. What a gentleman! As a dedicated sailor he was always in the news and already a legend after panelbeating his yacht ODIN after a Portland race. Even more so with his Admirals Cup exploits and the long string of 'CHALLENGE' yachts with which he was so successful. I had occasion to consult with him several times when ORCV Commodore in the early 90's and was amazed at his willingness to help. Calling on the CEO of a large corporation is a little daunting as one is passed through several secretaries and then takes up so much time. Lou was at the forefront of all the latest yachting direction moves and gladly assisted with ORCV directions. Always a fierce competitor but at the same time a real sportsman with a champion team of his own building, quiet and competent , just getting on with the job! A great supporter of the ORCV balls with Ken King, his assistance with materials to turn a dingy warehouse into a sparkling venue was of immense value. Even in his latter years, a CHALLENGE yacht would be up the front with Lou either steering or calling the shots! Vale Lou, we shall all miss you.
