ORCV AGM & Trophy Presentation 

Ocean Racing Club of Victoria 70th Anniversary, Annual General Meeting & Trophy Presentations will be held at Royal Brighton Yacht Club on Tuesday 8th October, 6.30 - 9.00pm.


At this years AGM we will reflect on our amazing 70 year history, raise a glass to recognise our ORCV founders and thank all past, present committee members, wonderful volunteers, supporters and sailors. We have so many amazing people to thank, so we will order big bottle of champagne!

* Details of the Offshore Championship and the Coastal Championship, including the Double Handed Championships, are given in the respective Notices of Race. For the Offshore Championship, results from the best 4 races count but at least two must be from Category 2 events. The Coastal Championship races are all Category 3 events and the best 3 results count.

New ORCV Coastal Sprint Races is a new initiative in the ORCV Sailing for 2019/20 season.  These races have been designed to provide crew development and a pathway for longer ocean races. The 25 February 2019 update of the Downloadable Calendar has been posted. The update includes a correction of the Date for Winter Series Race 3 which will be held on Saturday 3 August 2019. 

  • Dates are included for the Practical Navigator course. Subject to numbers, the course will be run on both 30 June and 11 August.
  • Sunday 12 May has also been reserved for a "conversion to Cat 2 Ocean Racing" program which is designed for active bay racing skippers.     

ORCV member Thorry Gunnersen AM, owner-skipper of Tilting at Windmills, dies at age 77

ThorryDear fellow sailors,

It is with great sadness we announce that ORCV member Thorry Gunnersen AM, owner-skipper of Tilting at Windmills, passed away at home on Sunday 4 February 2018, age 77. His funeral will be held at 11am on Monday 12 February 2018, at St Peter’s Eastern Hill Anglican Church, 15 Gisborne Street, Melbourne.

2014 Hartbreaker Flies the Flag for the ORCV

Hartbreaker, owned by ORCV members Alan Breidahl and Tony Walton, flew the flag for the ORCV at the CYCA this weekend where they are berthed in preparation for the Sydney to Hobart Race.
