Latitude Mentoring Competitor Support Program
The Melbourne Latitude Series (MLS) provides unique tactical and navigation challenges for ocean racers of all levels, coupled with a competitor support program and mentoring support for ocean racing beginners. The ORCV ocean racing calendar has a well designed range of short, medium and long distance ocean races that competitors can progress through. The Latitude Series of races further enhances the racing calendar at the lower end of the scale.
The Latitude Series competitor support program includes seminars tailored for the transition from 'Round the Sticks' Bay racing to Ocean Racing. It covers areas such as, Safety Requirements, Yacht Preparation, Crew Management and Ocean Racing Evolution.
Mentoring is available from experienced ocean sailors for both off and on the water and for before, during and after racing.
The ORCV already has an existing regular training programme to deliver safety, first-aid, marine communications and meteorological information to sailors. These have been bolstered for the Latitude Mentoring Series with a comprehensive competitor support program of seminars to take you from 'Round-the-Sticks' to ocean racing. Please book in early to avoid disapointment for the following training events:
