ORCV Melbourne to Geelong (M2G)

Odds - not Sods...

It was not a case of odds and sods in the weekend's Melbourne to Geelong event, but there were certainly plenty of sodden sailors and gear once they got to RGYC.

Susan Halliwell sails aboard one of our current Seamanship Poster Crews, Joint Venture, and she turned in some great images for us. Given that we had bow on images of crews getting murdered by waves, it was particularly pleasing to see what it it was like for you, on board!

Great work to get it just before it hits, Sue. Looks like Fawkner Beacon in the background...

Heads turned in preparation for the next one!

Zoe the Wonder Pooch thought the return voyage to RBYC was far preferable...

Now what would a piece about odds and sods be without changing the subject and showing some more of the presentation images? Not living up to the title, that's what... Many thanks to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for taking the presentation images for us.

Former RGYC Commodore, John Kint, brought Bundaberg out again for the M2G and got Line Honours to boot with an elapsed time of 05:20:23!

Geelong's Malcolm Eaton is another who's been very supportive of the the M2G. This year, Gomez got third in AMS, Cruising.

ORCV regular, Peter Chalkley collects the loot for Hush's AMS, Cruising win. They got the boat home in eighth place behind some much bigger vessels.

Galaxy's Robert Ciolli is another of the band that have taken to the M2G and get the boat out of the pen each year for it.  Third in PHS, Cruising was their reward this year.

Dionysos was second in PHS, Cruising. Paul Commins and crew are another who have very much taken to being a part of the M2G. Cheers.

Third in Div2 AMS was The Secretary. Here, Immediate Past Commodore, George Shaw shows he's still super happy with it all.

Understand we have more still...

The M2G is now done and you can get all the results for that race and the entire MWS, right HERE.

Follow it all here and via the ORCV Facebook page, so make sure you go and "Like" the page, now. 170 Souls already have and thank you to all of them.

Celebrating its 41st consecutive running -
the Winter Series was first run in 1972
and is still the same format today!

Be a part of the Bay's hottest racing at the coldest
time of year or just pop out at the end, for
the Bay's favourite bash - the event officially known
just as
Melbourne to Geelong,
but you may have other names for it...

In September, the Melbourne to Geelong event
finishes the Winter Series off and there will be

Of course, by the time Stanley comes around,
you just know Silly Season proper is upon you...

Many thanks to Hobbos and particularly
Tony Dawson for getting our favourite shooters -
Teri and Alex - out on the water aboard Privateer.

Many thanks also to Jon Bilger and his PredictWind
