Other Races
For the 2008/9 season, the ORCV will also conduct or be associated with the following series and events:
- The Blairgowrie to Sandringham Pursuit Race: on Sunday, 23rd November 2008.
- The Entire Cock of the Bay: a passage race from Port Melbourne to Blairgowrie, on Friday, 26th December 2008, conducted by the ORCV in association with the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron and Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron.
- The Wrest Point King of the Derwent: conducted by the Derwent Sailing Squadron and sailed on the Derwent River on Friday, 2nd January 2009.
- The Sovereign Series: consisting of the Entire Cock of the Bay, the Heemskirk Consolidated Melbourne to Hobart and the Wrest Point King of the Derwent.
- The Port of Launceston (TasPorts) Cup: conducted by Tamar Yacht Club, sailed on the Tamar River on Tuesday, 30th December 2008.
- The Rudder Cup Series: consisting of the Entire Cock of the Bay, the Mariner Corporate Finance Melbourne to Launceston and the Port of Launceston Cup. The Rudder Cup is Australia's oldest ocean racing trophy. It was first awarded to the winner of a race from Queenscliff to Low Head (at the mouth of the Tamar River) in 1907.
- The Entire Two-Handed Race: on Sunday, 3rd May 2009, an "around the buoys" race conducted by the ORCV in Port Phillip Bay over a course of approximately 25 nautical miles. Safety Category 4.
- The 2008 ORCV Winter Series: a series of 6 Bay races sailed on Port Phillip Bay plus the Queenscliff to Flinders Race. Commencing on the first Sunday in July, this series has been conducted annually by ORCV since 1971
