Winter Series NTC2 including updated Sailing Instructions now published.

With just under a week to go, we are gearing up for what is likely to be the sailing event of the winter.

With an expected fleet of over 30 boats across all nominated categories getting ready to line up on the start line at Royal Brighton next Saturday morning (7th July, 2018), the competition will be as engaging on the water, as it will be in the warmth of the Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron (BYS) bar when we arrive.

The Race Management Team has now published the Notice to Competitors No.2 (WS_NTC2) which includes the updated Sailing Instructions – V1.10 (Final).

  1. The Key Changes are Summarised as follows:
  • Appendix E – Additional Marks added, to be used in Blairgowrie Courses.
  • Appendix H – Added to describe Blairgowrie Passage Race Courses.
  • Appendix K – Added to describe changes to Motoring Provisions for Cruising Division.

All competitors are urged to visit the Winter Series website to download a copy of these documents ahead of next week’s race here.

Our warm hosts at BYS have requested that all competitors proposing to stay the night in Blairgowrie on Saturday night, to complete the Overnight Stay Registration Form which is located on the Winter Series Race Documents page, to assist BYS with Berthing and catering provisions for your yacht and crew.

In addition to the changes made to the racing fleet, The ORCV Sailing Committee has also announced the initiative of allowing all yachts in the cruising division to use their engines for propulsion, should the conditions be light. These new provisions are also detailed in the updated Sailing Instructions.

Finally, all competitors proposing to enter the traditional Women’s Skipper and Navigators Race from Blairgowrie to Sandringham on Sunday 8th July, 2018, can enter via SMS to the Race Director on 0418 396 605, any time up until one (1) hour prior to the commencement of the Race, or during the Pre- Race Sign On Sked, in accordance with the Sailing Instructions, for this race, which can be found here.

If you are still thinking of joining us for this great event, entries are still open here.
