Description:
Held every four years from 2006, this is Australia's longest Category One race and starts on the first Sunday in July. It was conceived as an idyllic way to escape the Southern Winter and often attracts a strong two-handed division of racers. The race always has a Humanitarian Aid component attached to it and there is a container with medical, school and apparel supplies that accompanies the fleet to Vila. 2014 Vanuatu Qualifying Races

Where will you be on 27th December 2013 ?

The 2013 Hobart Westcoast and Eastcoast Races are qualifying events for the 2013 Vanuatu Race and also an opportunity for 2013 Vanuatu Rally entrants to complete their qualifying passage.


This is a great opportunity for entrants to satisfy the requirements of the Notice of Race and Notice of Rally. Check out what you need to do to qualify!

MELBOURNE TO VANUATU RACE – WEATHER SEMINAR

This coming Tuesday, 7.30pm at Royal Brighton Yacht Club is the third in the series of seminars in support of the Melbourne to Vanuatu race in July next year.

Weather is the focus this time so come along to hear;

  • Robin Hewitt talk about weather patterns at that time of year
  • Colin Miller of Off-Shore Electronics talk about the newest tools to capture the latest weather data
  • One of our recent Melbourne to Osaka sailors talk about how best to use that data

VANUATU SEMINAR SERIES

The first in the series of seminars designed to help crews prepare for next year’s Vanuatu Race will be held on Thursday, September 19, commencing 7.30pm in the Olympic Room at Royal Brighton Yacht Club.

The themes for the night will be communications and safety. On hand will be Martin Vaughan (fresh back from Osaka), Robert Tanner and Angus Fletcher, all well qualified long distance racers, who will share their thoughts on how best to go about preparing for the event. It will be a very informal evening with plenty of opportunity for open discussion and questions.
