Four boats passed the finish line before midnight last night with Calm streaking ahead to take line honours for the second year in a row. As midnight ticked over there was a flurry of arrivals, Spirit of Downunder just creeping into Sunday to cross the line, and an amazing job by Cadibarra 8, with only two crew on board, to come in so early. Wicked managed to catch some of the slightly stronger winds to get a small break to be the first of the Benetau First 40s, who had stuck close all through Saturday, just edging out Bandit at the finish.

As the night grew darker the rest of the fleet arrived in a steady flow and early this morning Patrick Clark and the Morning Star crew closed in on their destination to bring out the end of the race. The winds might have been in short supply but it looks like the fine weather meant for some happy sailing.

Dry White sent through some great pictures from out on the water yesterday.

Skipper Simon Dryden emailed photos of the crew looking pretty relaxed on subdued seas, with the subject heading "Bass Strait is not supposed to look like this".

But I think everyone looks pretty happy on board, don't you?

Now, just to find out who won that crayfish!
