ORCV Hutchwilco Melbourne to Stanley (M2S).

Get there quickly...

Yes. It would seem the idea is to make your ground early... Not as harsh as was thought earlier, the wind is there a bit in the morning, turns to champagne sailing in a tight reach as the day goes on and gets oh-so-light, tight in on the Tassie coast, especially on Sunday morning.

5amHeads

5 to 10 knots out of the Sou'west at start and around 20 to 30 tinnies involved in a fishing comp, also occupying the Heads
and surrounding areas. Game on, I'd say. Spirit of Tassie comes in at around 0500hrs, too!!!!

11amBassStrait

Filling in and off towards 25, with a good bit of West in it. The sleds will love the look of that. BBB (Gusto)
will put 2.7tonnes on the rail and start to hammer.

5amRegion

The region forecaast model shows a bit out to the West, but Bass Strait way calm...

5pmRegion

1700hrs and the stuff has come in from the West.

11pmRegion

2300hrs and it's giddy up!!!!

5amSunRegion

But on the top of Tassie on Sunday morning, it's beginning to get quiet...

11amSunRegion

And it's fairly deathly at 1100hrs on Sunday...

5pmTassie

For the leaders, the variable winds to 10knots on a half metre swell with a half metre chop on it says a lot... However, over at King Island, 30 knots from the Sou'west with a 3m sea on top of 2m SW swell is way different.

SundayTassie

How's this? 20knots out of the Sou'east for the morning and then 15 from the Nor'west in the afternoon -
Fun and Games or what?!!!!!

Right then, we had 37 vessels in the M2S, but Chikara Outlaw withdrew a few days ago, so it's 36 now - Addiction, Alibi, Alien, Arch Rival, Bandit, Biddy Hu II, Cadibarra 8, Calm, Cavarlo, Dekadence, Dark and Stormy, Dry White, eXtasea, FullyNPushing, Gusto, Halcyon, Independent Endeavour, Jazz Player, Kiss Goodbye to MS, Magazan 53, Magic, Matrix, Mille Sabords, Mirrabooka, Nutcracker, Pretty Woman, Scarlet Runner, Slinky Malinky, Spirit of Downunder, Tevake II, Trybooking.com, Under Capricorn, Weekend Option, White Noise, XLR8 and Yoko, which is excellent. Well done and good luck to all.
