Test of NextG in 2007/8.

We equipped Elektra with new and high-end equipment. Mast-head antenna with new high quality low-loss cable up the mast, and an Ericsson broadband device - which provided simultaneous voice and data (and also fax which was not tested).
Overall we had good coverage for voice and broadband internet access for
almost the whole trip.
We prepared a comprehensive report for Telstra - and an extract in word format is attached:
The course we sailed was:
Note that even with this high quality, new condition equipment and a mast higher than most of our fleet - we still had some areas where we could not use the system.
What have been your experiences?
