2013 Ocean Racer of the Year
Call for Nominations.
The Ocean Racer of the Year Perpetual Trophy was presented by Ron White and Family, of Shenandoah 11 fame, for the first time in 2002.
The trophy was implemented to recognise those qualities particular to ocean racing as distinct from other yachting activities.
Such qualities might include, but are not limited to, the nominee’s knowledge and application to Ocean Racing of:
Weather
Tides
Routeing
Boat Handling/Sea State
Victualling
Crew maintenance
Sail Management
Nominations are requested for this past season and should be submitted to the ORCV with supporting reasons by Friday 6th September 2013.
