2013 AWKR entries open

Entries for the 23rd Australian Women's Keelboat Regatta (AWKR) are now open!!

On behalf of the AWKR committee I have the pleasure of inviting your female sailors to compete in what has become one of the most respected and highly contested events in Women's Sailing.
Hosted by Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron, St Kilda, Victoria the regatta runs over the Queen’s Birthday weekend of 8th – 10th June, 2013.
Please visit our new website www.awkr.com.au, where you and your female sailors will find the Notice of Race, Race Entry and other important documents and information. We have also attached a poster for you, so you may advertise this event around your club house.
This year AWKR has some exciting new offerings for competitors. These include new courses in the Sailing Instructions, early bird entry fees and a bigger and better off-the-water social calendar. As usual, we will also help interstate sailors and local sailors to find crew members, boats and local accommodation.

Once again in the lead up to the regatta we will be holding our annual Lecture Series over four Wednesdays in May (8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th). Our speakers this year are Jessica Watson (Solo Sailor), Johnny Rodgers (VIS Head Sailing Coach), Mark Tonner-Joyce (State Sailing Coach) and Col Anderson (Sail Maker).
AWKR will once again be supporting the Cancer Council SunSmart Campaign by running raffles at each of the lectures and in the Olympic bar after the races. Once again our sponsors have donated fantastic prizes for this cause.
If there is anything we can do to help your teams to participate or if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Allicia Rae, RMYS Sailing Administrator on 03 9534 0227 or via email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
We look forward to welcoming members from your club and continuing to celebrate women in sailing at this national event.
